Waste Collection
| Garbage/Recycle Bins what if mine is stolen or damaged? | | If your Council rubbish bin is stolen, visit the Council office in Fawckner Drive Benalla and make a statement. Arrangements will then be made for a replacement bin, which should arrive within ten working days.
If your bin is damaged, you can phone Customer Relations on 5760 2600 or visit the Council Office to report it. Arrangements will be made for either repair or replacement of your bin.

| How can I report a blocked drain, a damaged tree, a road that needs grading etc? | | A Customer Request can be completed. This is a written report requesting what action is required.
If it is a dangerous hazard that needs reporting after hours, you can call 5760 2600 which will divert to a message system.
A Customer Request can also be used for any type of complaint or request that Council can address.

| Do I need an appointment to see a Planning or Building Officer? | | Yes. It is advisable to make an appointment as these officers are often required to carry out inspections and other duties away from the office.
By making an appointment, we can ensure that someone will be available to see you at the allotted time. Top

| Dog and cat registrations when are they due and how do I register? | | Dog and cat registrations are due on the 10th of April each year. A renewal notice will be sent to you for any dogs or cats already registered with the Council. Registration notices are sent separately to rate notices.
It is a legal requirement that all cats and dogs over the age of three months are microchipped and registered with the Council. If you have a new dog or cat, please contact Council for details on how to have your pet registered.
Discounted rates are available for desexed, microchipped and older animals, working dogs and other categories. For more information, please contact the Compliance Department on 57602652. Top

| Animal registration tags do I have to put it on the animal? | | Yes. It is strongly recommended that you place the tag provided on the collar of your registered animal. In the event of the animal going missing, the tag is the best way to assist in reuniting you with your pet.

| Immunisation Where can I get my child immunised? | | | Free immunisation sessions are held at the Community Care Centre on the first Monday of each month from 9.30am - 10.30am. If you require a school entry immunisation certificate for your child an immunisation certificate application form can be completed at the Council office. Top

| EFTPOS and Bpay are these facilities available at the Council. | | EFTPOS facilities are available at the Council Office for the payment of accounts.
Rate payments can be made using Bpay.

| Trees Will Council do this? | | My Nature strip tree requires cutting. Will Council do this?
Call Council on 5760 2600 and give details of tree location. Parks and Garden staff will assess the tree to determine if cutting is required.
I dont like my nature strip tree. Will Council remove it?
Council generally does not remove nature strip trees unless they are unsafe or diseased. Top

| Waste Collection | | I have moved into my new home. How can I arrange bins?
A written request can be taken to the Council Office or faxed on 5762 5537 along with a copy of your Certificate of Occupancy.
Does Council have a waste collection service?
