Volunteering in Benalla Rural City
Volunteers are one of the reasons why Benalla Rural City is such a vibrant place to live. There are approximately 400 people volunteering across Council activities and programs and hundreds more volunteering in other roles in the community.

Almost every area of our community life is improved by the tireless efforts of our volunteers. As well as the many community service roles, our sporting clubs and hobby groups would not exist without the efforts of all those who volunteer their time and expertise.

The Council recognises, thanks and congratulates those who volunteer for Council activities and also those who give their time and effort to other organisations and activities within the community.

How do I become a volunteer?
If you would like to become a volunteers, contact the Council on (03) 5760 2600 or email council@benalla.vic.gov.au so we can talk with you about Council activities and programs.

If you wish to volunteer for another non-Council organisation, you may find their contact details on www.benallaservices.com.au.

It is a regulatory requirement that all volunteers for Council activities undergo an induction process. This is important for Occupational Health and Safety reasons. This is an easy process that is done online, and once you are inducted as a volunteer for one Council activity, this applies across all voluntary positions. You need only do it once every two years.
