The Road Management Plan (RMP) has been established to provide Benalla Rural City with a road system which caters for the needs of everyone who lives and travels within the municipality.
The RMP has been developed as a response to the Road Management Act 2004 and is a mechanism to manage Benalla Rural City’s local road assets. It takes into consideration the important links provided by the National Highway, State Highway and Main Roads within and connecting to the municipality’s local road network.
The RMP seeks to balance the community’s economic, social, safety and environmental expectations, particularly those people and groups who rely on the road network for access in our rural communities.
The RMP is a summarised, easy to read document of Council’s road management processes. Comprehensive details are available in Council’s Road Asset Management, Footpath Asset Management and Bridge Asset Management Plans.
