Temporary Food Premises / Market Stalls  Printer Friendly

Any business or not-for-profit group intending to sell food to the public from a temporary food premises or market stall must first either notify or register with their Principal Council through Streatrader depending on the type of food planned to be sold. Once registered statements of trade must be lodged online through Streatrader to the Council in whose municipal district you will be trading.

Streatrader
Streatrader is a website that allows registration and notification of temporary and mobile food premises operated by both businesses and not-for-profit groups to the principal council. The principal council is the council in which the premises is based, equipment is stored or garaged, the not-for-profit group is based, or the first trade occurs for interstate traders.

Traders now only have to register with one Council to be able to operate their temporary or mobile food premises anywhere within Victoria. Once registration or notification is complete, traders are obligated to lodge statements of trade via their online Streatrader Account to inform Councils where and when they will be trading.

Please visit Streatrader to begin the registration process.

Once your application to register or notify has been received an Environmental Health Officer will contact you to discuss your proposed temporary food business and ensure that you can comply with all food safety obligations.
