The Council is responsible for maintaining the Rural City’s road and footpath network. Local roads are the responsibility of the Council, while declared roads, such as arterial roads and freeways, are managed by VicRoads.
Visit the VicRoads website for maps highlighting declared and local roads.
Strategies and decisions are based on the direction of the Road Management Plan 2017-2021, which will be available for download after it has been adopted by the Council.
The Road Management Plan is updated every four years in line with the Council planning cycle. During drafting and then prior to adoption, the community is invited to provide feedback on the Road Management Plan.
The most recent Road Management Plan follows a review of the previous plan, including footpath management, the service levels and inspection frequencies associated with the maintenance and management of the local road and footpath networks within the municipality.
