Community Support Register

Benalla Rural City Council and the Victoria Police Benalla run a confidential and secure database of residents over the age of 50.

What is the Benalla Rural City Community Support Register?

A joint initiative between Benalla Rural City Council and the Victoria Police Benalla, the Register is a confidential and secure database of residents over the age of 50.

If required, Emergency Services including Police, Fire and Ambulance can access the Register for important details.

The Register provides an option for people who are frail, isolated, or living with a disability to be contacted regularly by trained volunteers to check on their wellbeing.

Note - the Benalla Rural City Community Register is available to residents living within Benalla Rural City.

Why should I be part of the Register?

The Register provides:

  • Regular phone contact with a volunteer to check on your wellbeing
  • Support to maximise your safety and independence
  • Important community information and health updates
  • In an emergency, important information can be released to Emergency Services, including Police, Fire and Ambulance
  • Referrals to other support services as required.

How does it work?

Registered members receive a weekly or fortnightly call and an optional member ID card, which allows Emergency Services to access important information when required.

Call us on 03 5761 2250 to obtain a copy of the form, to receive help completing the form, or to receive this information in an alternative format.
