Volunteer Transport

Dedicated volunteers offer transport to people who are unable to drive and cannot obtain support from family and friends to get to important appointments.

Where can I go?

The Council provides a vehicle that allows transport to be available for medical appointments in Wangaratta, Wodonga, Albury, Shepparton, Melbourne and other locations by arrangement.

How do I book?

Limited spaces are available. Contact Community Care on 03 5761 4500 if you require transport. Please ensure that you have all the information about your appointment on hand, including the date, time and location.

If you haven’t used the volunteer transport service before, you’ll need to first go through our intake process so that we can register all your important information.

What does it cost?

Fees depend on your destination and are requested to partially cover petrol and other costs. If there are parking fees, you’ll need to cover these. You’ll be advised of approximate costs when you call to make your booking for transport. The volunteer driver will collect your fee on the day and provide a receipt.
