Volunteers in Benalla Rural City Council

Benalla is fortunate to have a vibrant volunteer community. Many of the services that operate across Benalla Rural City wouldn't be possible without the support and effort of volunteers.

We engage more than 450 volunteers in many roles and programs, including aged and disability services, youth programs, arts and cultural programs, tourism, parks and outdoor services, community events and specialist committees.

Benefits of Volunteering

Volunteering offers vital help to people in need, worthwhile causes and the community. The benefits can be even greater for you as the volunteer.

Volunteering:

  • connects you to others and the community
  • is good for your mind and body
  • can advance your skills, study and work experience
  • brings fun and fulfilment to you and others.

Benalla Rural City Council is registered with Centrelink for the Mutual Obligation Voluntary Work program for job seekers aged 55 years and over.
