Geographic Naming Proposal: Gates Lane, Devenish

The Council is proposing to name a road.

This naming is needed because this road is to be included in the Road Register of the Road Management Plan 2017-2021 and has not formally been named.

The Council previously proposed to name the road Kingston Street. However, following hearing submissions and a meeting with submitters on 6 December 2017, the proposed name is Gates Lane. The road is located at Devenish and connects to Brown Street and adjoins the Devenish Recreation Reserve.

Members of the public can provide feedback on the proposed name by one of the following methods:

  • Attend the Council meeting at 6pm, 31 January 2018 at the Civic Centre
  • Mail to PO Box 227, Benalla VIC 3671
  • Email to council@benalla.vic.gov.au

All name submissions must comply with Naming rules for places in Victoria - Statutory requirements for naming roads, features and localities - 2016.

All submissions must be received by 5pm Monday 22 January
