Footpath Resealing

The upgraded section of footpath on Bridge Street provides footpath access all the way to Witt Street.

The new concrete footpath spans 240 metres along Bridge Street, at a cost of $45,000 to the Council, includes the repair and maintenance of existing sections of footpath to ensure accessibility for pedestrians and mobility scooters.

The Waller Street upgrade includes pram crossings to connect the new footpath with the existing network. This project cost $55,000.

The new footpaths make it easier for people with prams and mobility scooters to travel around Benalla.

Mayor, Cr Don Firth, said the footpath network is a critical asset that connects people with each other and with services.

“Safe and accessible footpaths enable individuals to connect with the community,” said Cr Firth.

“The footpath network promotes a healthy and active community, providing easier access to retail spaces as well as to health and community services.”
