The Benalla Rural City Council’s improved rates notice will be arriving in mailboxes in September. Easy-to-read panels show you your property details and value, rates and charges, the Fire Services Property Levy – a State Government levy, and payment options, including installments and the early payment discount.

The first installment is due by 30 September 2013.

Concessions:
If you are an eligible pensioner, your rebate has already been deducted from your rates and charges. If you haven’t applied for this rebate, you can do so at Council’s offices.

Hardship: If you think you may have trouble paying your rates, please contact the Council as soon as possible to discuss your payment options on (03) 5760 2600.

Fire Services Protection Levy – a fairer levy

This year for the first time local councils are required by the State Government to collect the Fire Services Protection Levy through rates notices. This money does not form part of the Council’s revenue and is passed on directly to the State Government.
