| The Benalla Local Safety Committee is a multi-agency group that meets every second month to report, analyse and act on issues of local safety concerns.
Through a strong partnership between Benalla Police, Council, business and community organisations the committee provides a forum for residents and community organisations to refer safety issues for consideration and action.
Some of the issues already referred to the committee include: | |
 | review of street lighting |  | "hoon" driving and other unsafe driving practices |  | safety after dark in certain locations |  | drug use and threatening activity |  | safety around Lake Benalla |

| The committee comprises representatives from a range of government, community and private sector agencies.
Comments and suggestions are now being sought from the community on issues it would like the committee to address. Suggestions can be mailed to:
