The Family support service is about working with families to develop:
• Practical life skills • Parenting skills • Community support networks
If you have ever thought that there must be better ways of managing the issues below, then this service may be helpful.
• Not enough rest or time to self with a new baby • Toddlers with tantrum behaviour • Wanting children to respect what you say • Sibling fighting • Meal times that are a nightmare • Not knowing what to do about disciplining a child • Setting boundaries but staying close to your adolescent son or daughter • Knowing more about how to play with your child • Feeling burnt-out and over-stretched as a parent • Struggling with money to make ends meet • Not enough time for adult relationships
A family support worker will listen to you and work along side you to make positive changes.
They can support you in many ways by:
• Listening to you • Helping you to be clear about what changes you would like to make. • Encourage you in your choices. • Give you information-practical ideas on parenting, books and groups. • Working practically with you and your child to encourage positive behaviours. • Be a sounding board for your own ideas. | |
