Residents and visitors to Benalla Rural City are being invited to take part in a survey to help develop better facilities for the municipality.
The community survey is being undertaken by the Council and all people who live, work, study or play in Benalla and surrounding towns are invited to complete the survey.
Benalla has approximately 24 recreational parks, reserves and directly managed facilities. Most of these are maintained and managed by volunteer committees, dedicating large amounts of their own time to ensure quality areas are available for thousands of local people and visitors to participate in competitive and casual recreational activities.
“Benalla Rural City has some excellent recreational facilities,” said Mayor Cr Barbara Alexander. “We know that there are many opportunities to make them even better, and the best way to do that is to find out what people think. We want to hear from everyone who uses these facilities, regardless of income, background or ability.
“Whether you attend for competitive sport, the occasional jog or walk, or to catch up with family and friends we would like to know how you spend your leisure time at these recreation reserves and facilities.”
The information will assist the Benalla Rural City Council with future improvements to existing facilities while seeking opportunities for new facilities.
The survey can be completed online here, by collecting a survey form from the Customer Service Centre, 1 Bridge Street East, Benalla, or by requesting one by mail from the Customer Relations team on (03) 5760 2600. Surveys can be returned to the Customer Service Centre, emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org, or posted to PO Box 227, Benalla, 3671.
