Benalla Rural City will be on the big screen at Federation Square on Friday 30 October as promotion for the World Gliding Championships 2017 begins to roll out.
The State Gliding Centre of Victoria, which is based in Benalla, will set up an impressive display with the gliding simulator set up to demonstrate the thrills of unpowered flight. As part of the promotional event, Benalla Rural City’s promotional videos Country Hearts and Home Harvesters will play on the large screen. The State Gliding Centre has been working with the Council to coordinate the event.
“The World Gliding Championships 2017 are going to be an important opportunity for Benalla Rural City to show the world what a beautiful place this is to visit, and this chance to be on display in one of the most popular meeting spots in Melbourne is very exciting,” said Mayor Cr Justin King.
“The videos we have produced for the last two years for use at our Australia Day festivities and the Benalla Festival are an invitation to explore what we love so much about living in the rural city – the warmth of the community, our vibrant arts and culture scene, our natural attractions and adventure activities,” Cr King said.
“The Council works hard to showcase the rural city at every opportunity. We are also taking Benalla Rural City to Motor Classica this month, and our new tourism website www.enjoybenalla.com.au provides another way for people to discover how much there is to see, taste and do.”
The videos can be viewed on www.enjoybenalla.com.au.
