Cycling around Benalla is now even easier for visitors and local people alike, with the introduction of bike hire at the Visitor Information Centre.
The service has been established by the Visitor Information Centre in partnership with Auscamp.
The first hour is free, with subsequent fees set at $20 for two hours, $30 for three hours, and $50 for day hire. The bicycles are available between 9am-4pm, seven days a week except for Christmas Day. Helmets are included, or cyclists can use their own. A $20 refundable deposit is payable prior to taking the bikes out.
“With the popularity of cycling continuing to grow, this is a great addition to our tourism facilities,” said Acting Mayor Cr Margaret Richards.
“People can enjoy a leisurely ride around Lake Benalla, a self-guided tour of Ned Kelly sites and street art, or something more adventurous like the Winton Wetlands cycle paths,” Cr Richards said.
Further information and cycling maps are available at the Visitor Information Centre.
