Mayor Cr Justin King has thanked VicRoads for the safety upgrades to an approximately 30km stretch of road between the Hume Freeway and Lake Nillahcootie.
Tactile linemarking has now been installed down the centre and on the sides of the road to alert drivers when they stray out of their lane. Warning signs will also be installed to inform drivers that this is a high risk zone for crashes.
“I congratulate VicRoads on acting so promptly,” said Cr King.
“This stretch of road has been a real concern for our residents following a spate of serious incidents. I am pleased that the Council, Victoria Police and VicRoads have worked together to make the road safer for everyone who uses it,” he said.
