11 February: Immunisation rates in Benalla highest in state for 24 month olds  Printer Friendly

Benalla Rural City has topped the state in the Immunisation Coverage for registered children aged between 24 and 27 months.

The municipality rates second in the Hume Region and sixth in Victoria for coverage for 12-15 month olds, and fifth in the Hume region for 5 year olds.

Veronica Schilling, General Manager Development and Environment, says that achieving good coverage relies on a combination of the diligence of parents supported by local doctors and the Council through the Environmental Health team and Maternal and Child Health services.

The Council offers regular free immunisation sessions at the Benalla Community Care Ray Sweeney Centre and Waminda Community House.
