Fundraising efforts to put the red light on children left in cars  Printer Friendly

Traffic signs to help raise awareness and prevent children being left alone in cars have been purchased following fundraising efforts from four Benalla school students as part of the Benalla Leo Lions Club.
The Young Leos involved in the fundraising project were Jazzy Burke, Zoe Burke, Georgie Burke and Sienna Fox who purchased 10 ‘Do Not Leave Children In Cars’ Traffic Signs from Kidsafe to raise awareness on the dangers of leaving children unattended in cars.
The Young Leos presented their idea to Benalla Rural City Council’ CBD Parking Working Group. The signs are now installed in carparks in Benalla’s central business district.
The Benalla Leo Lions Club is open to young men and women aged between 12 and 30.
