All residents in Benalla currently receive a weekly garbage collection. Residents are offered variable sized bins from 80litre, 140litre to 240litre to suit their individual requirements.
Changes in bin sizes (downsizing) may be made in May each year using the Mobile Garbage Bin Changeover a link to which is at the bottom of this page..
Upsizing of bins may be done at any time, for further queries please contact Council's Customer Relations Team.

| Recyclables – Weekly kerbside collection | | Urban Area
All items should be rinsed and placed in the recycling bin and deposited at the kerbside the night before collection is due.
Rural Area
Rural recycling depots are provided throughout the rural areas of the municipality. Banks of bins are provided throughout the rural areas for the collection of recyclables including paper,cardboard, cans,tins and glass. These items can be comingled and are separated at the processing facility. Recycling depots are emptied on a weekly basis.
