Educated at Benalla St Josephs Primary School and Benalla Technical College, he commenced his electrical apprenticeship in 1977 in Benalla. Don worked in Melbourne in a variety of positions in the Electrical field and returned to Benalla in 1985 when he purchased a business which he owns and operates to this day. He has been a member of many community groups over the years including Apex, Benalla Rose Festival, All Blacks Football Club, Benalla Felix Easter Arts Festival and the Benalla Trust Dinner Auction Committee. Don is currently a member of the Benalla Club Inc., Melbourne Cricket Club, North Melbourne and Benalla Saints Football Clubs and Vice President of Cooinda Village Inc. Don represents Council on the following committees: Benalla Art Gallery Special Committee Benalla Airport Advisory Committee Economic Development Advisory Committee Benalla Performing Arts & convention Centre Board of Management Benalla Indoor Recreation Centre Committee of Management Incorporated United Firendly Society Reserve Committee of Management Incorporated
