Mental health issues especially over the past two years with the COVID-19 pandemic have been significant for many young people and the general community.

Will has been a key member of the Live4Life Benalla crew since 2020 and is a much admired student at Benalla P-12 College. The Live4Life Benalla crew are students from Year 8 to 10, from both Benalla P-12 and FCJ College who volunteer their own time to be mental health ambassadors in their school and their community.

During his time on the crew, Will has helped organise events and activities for Year 8 students to celebrate the Live4Life program while also promoting the key messages from Teen Mental Health First Aid Training.

Since his first day with the Live4Life crew, Will has been nothing but a positive, kind and engaging leader who is willing to take an extra step to make activities and events successful. Will continuously thinks outside the box and wants to make everything he is involved in the best he can, so everyone can benefit.

Other events, Will supports include IDAHOBIT day, being part of local basketball teams, a youth researcher for the Benalla Rural City Council Youth Strategy and maintaining a great work ethic at his after school job.

It is clear to see that Will is a big part of the Benalla community as he has the ability to go anywhere, anytime and will always be greeted with a big smile from a diverse range of community members. Will is a young person, Benalla Rural City is proud to call a local!
