Benalla is fortunate to have a vibrant volunteer community. Many of the services that operate across Benalla Rural City wouldn't be possible without the support and effort of volunteers.

We engage more than 450 volunteers in many roles and programs, including aged and disability services, youth programs, arts and cultural programs, tourism, parks and outdoor services, community events and specialist committees.

Benalla Rural City Council is registered with Centrelink for the Mutual Obligation Voluntary Work program for job seekers aged 55 years and over.

Volunteers are one of the reasons why Benalla Rural City is such a vibrant place to live. There are approximately 450 people volunteering across Council activities and programs and hundreds more volunteering in other roles in the community.

Almost every area of our community life is improved by the tireless efforts of our volunteers. As well as the many community service roles, our sporting clubs and hobby groups would not exist without the efforts of all those who volunteer their time and expertise.
