A new transfer station is set to open at the Benalla Landfill and Resource Recovery Centre.
Residents will soon be able to access the new site. The final stages of construction include access via Old Farnley Road.
Mayor Cr Danny Claridge said the new transfer stations would change the way residents dispose of waste at the Landfill.

The transfer station is designed to maximise efficiencies and reduce the carbon footprint of waste disposal in Benalla Rural City. It will feature:
The project addresses priority actions in the North East Waste and Resource Recovery Implementation Plan 2017, the Benalla Rural City Council Waste Management Minimisation Strategy and the Victorian Waste & Resource Recovery policy targets.

‘We look forward to seeing the lasting improvements this project will have in Benalla Rural City.’ For more information about waste management in Benalla Rural City, go to our Landfill, Waste & Recycling page.
