Community Support Program

The Council’s annual Community Support Program, which opened on 3 February 2020, will distribute up to $90,000 to community-based not for profit groups and other organisations to assist in hosting events, activities and community-based initiatives.

The annual program includes Community grants up to $2,500, Major Event Funding up to $1,500, Youth Participation Grants up to $1,000 and Community Sponsorship, allocated monthly in amounts of up to $500.

Mayor Cr Danny Claridge said the funding provides a boost to local activities and events.

“The Community Support Program provides the opportunity for all community groups and individuals to further contribute to community life,” said Cr Claridge.

“The Council is offering funds to community groups to help build a healthy, active, safe and socially connected community. The range of activities and initiatives covered by the Community Support Program is broad and I encourage people to consider applying,” said Cr Claridge.

A Community Support Program information session is on Monday 10 February at the Sir Edward ‘Weary’ Dunlop Learning Centre from 6pm – 8pm.
