The Council will hold an information session on Wednesday 13 February for all groups interested in applying for funding through the annual Community Support Program which opens on 4 February 2019.

The Community Support Program provides funding for incorporated, community-based not for profit groups and other organisations to assist in hosting events, activities and community-based initiatives.

The program allocates approximately $90,000 in four categories, being:

  • Community grants up to $2,500
  • Major Event Funding up to $1,500
  • Youth Participation Grants up to $1,000
  • Community Sponsorship, allocated monthly in amounts of up to $500.

Mayor Cr Scott Upston said the funding makes an important contribution to many events and activities.

“The Council is committed to building a healthy, active, safe and socially connected community that offers opportunities for people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities to participate in community life,” said Cr Upston.

“The range of activities and initiatives covered by the Community Support Program is broad and I encourage people to consider applying.”

The Community Support Program information session on Wednesday 13 February is at the Community Care - Ray Sweeny Centre at 45 Coster Street from 6pm – 8pm.
