Rapid Antigen Test

Residents are now able to access free Rapid Antigen Tests (RATs) from Council, following an announcement last week by the Victorian state government.

Council is distributing free RATs, with COVID-19 testing kits available at the Council Customer Service Centre, 1 Bridge Street Benalla, and the Sir Edward ‘Weary’ Dunlop Learning Centre (Benalla Library).

Everyone can receive up to 2 packs of 5 RATs per person, and up to 2 packs per household member. You are not required to have a Medicare card. People with disability and their carers can get 4 packs of 20 RATs.

People are asked to visit Council to collect a free RAT kit now rather than waiting until they have come in contact with someone with COVID-19 or feel unwell.

Anyone experiencing cold or flu like symptoms are asked to stay home and send a friend or carer to collect a RAT kit. Please do not come into Council services at any time if you feel unwell.
