Council is seeking expressions of interest for the appointment of an independent member to its Audit and Risk Committee.
The Committee assists the Council in the effective conduct of its financial reporting, internal control, risk management, business continuity, external and internal audit and compliance responsibilities.
Meeting five times a year, the Committee comprises two councillors and up to four independent members.
With an independent member position currently vacant, expressions of interest are invited from people with qualifications and experience in one or more of the following fields:
- financial and performance reporting and auditing
- fraud prevention
- governance
- risk management.
The position attracts a modest allowance and has an initial three-year appointment term.
