Benalla Rural City Council presents Benalla by the Lake – a free, family-friendly evening that will close the nine-day Benalla Festival next month, with a spectacular celebration of music, food and entertainment held on the Lake Benalla foreshore on Saturday 8 November, from 3.30pm to 9.30pm.
Benalla Festival Chair and Benalla Rural City Council Deputy Mayor, Cr Justin King, said Benalla by the Lake was a true celebration of community spirit.
“Benalla by the Lake is one of the most loved events in our festival calendar. It’s a chance for families, friends, and visitors to come together and enjoy everything that makes Benalla special,” Cr King said.
Cr King said a highlight of the Benalla by the Lake event will be the ever-popular fireworks finale display and a new attraction, a high-flying, heart-stopping water jetpack performance, this being a first for the festival.
“Jetpack Entertainment will take the festival sky-high with Australia’s only firework-firing, high-flying water jetpack performance,” Cr King said.
“Watch daredevil performers soar up to 15 metres above the water, diving, spinning, and flipping through the air in a breathtaking stunt display.”
“Featuring synchronised tricks, LED suits, jet skis, and live pyrotechnics, this is a show where water, fire, and adrenaline collide!”
In addition to the main stage entertainment and spectacular finale, Benalla by the Lake will feature interactive activities including board games hosted by Room at The Table, side-show alley games run by the Full Impact Squad.
While the Sensory Tent, hosted by the Social Inclusion Action Group (SIAG), offers a calm space where patrons can decompress, explore sensory experiences and take a break from the festival buzz in a safe and supportive environment.
For those seeking a more formal experience, the Lakeside Community Centre will host the Benalla Lakeside Fireworks Ball on the evening of the Benalla by the Lake event, offering dinner, dancing, and prime views of the fireworks.
Benalla by the Lake will be held on Saturday 8 November from 3.30pm to 9.30pm on the Benalla Lake Foreshore on Fawckner Drive. Entry is free and all ages are welcome. Food and drink stalls will be available from this time.
The Benalla Festival is held from 31 October to 9 November 2025 celebrating the theme, Live Local, Love Local.
