Benalla Town Centre Mobility Map

Benalla Rural City Council is committed to building an inclusive and accessible community that values the contributions of people of all ages and abilities. We aim to ensure our services, facilities, and programs are inclusive, accessible, and encourage participation.

Our Community Access and Inclusion Plan is an inclusive roadmap designed to promote equal opportunities and accessibility for all members of our community. This comprehensive plan is a testament to our commitment to creating a community that respects and values the rights and dignity of individuals with disabilities.

The Benalla Town Centre Mobility Map helps residents and visitors travel more easily around town. The map identifies community facilities in the central business district, including:

  • Accessible toilets
  • Disability parking bays
  • Scooter recharge points
  • Baby change tables
  • Public seating

An Accessible Parking Permit (APP) allows people with impaired mobility to park in accessible parking bays or park in regular bays for double the time.: 

There are three types of Accessible Parking Permits available to Victorian residents:

  • An Australian Disability Parking (ADP) Permit (for individuals)
  • A Victorian Double Time Permit (for individuals)
  • An Australian Disability Parking (ADP) Permit (for organisations)

We’ll work out which permit you are eligible for during the application process.

Benalla Rural City offers a variety of activities and support groups to encourage social engagement and connection.

This active group holds monthly Cuppa, Cake & Chat mornings, providing a welcoming space for carers to connect and share their experiences. For more details, visit their Facebook page or contact them directly.

This community-based group works closely with Council to raise access and inclusion concerns, advocate for change, and provide feedback on policies and programs.
