Get your garden ready for winter thanks to Benalla Rural City Council’s Free Green Waste Weekend.
Residents can dispose of up to 300kg of green waste for free at the Benalla Landfill and Resource Recovery Centre during Benalla Rural City Council’s Free Green Waste Weekend on 24-25 May 2025.
Accepted items include:
- Lawn clippings
- Branches
- Garden prunings
- Raw timber offcuts (no machined timber)
Important reminders:
- Stumps must be under 40cm in diameter and 1m in length.
- Only domestic vehicles like sedans, utes, and trailers (up to dual-wheel tandem) are permitted.
This event is available for domestic customers only. Permitted vehicles include sedans, utes, and trailers (up to dual-wheel tandem). Larger vehicles such as trucks and tippers, deemed to carry commercial quantities, are not eligible for free this initiative.
