NAIDOC Week Celebrations

National NAIDOC Week celebrations take place across Australia during the first week of July each year from Sunday to Sunday, to celebrate and recognise the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples.
Benalla celebrates its NAIDOC Week Community Day on Tuesday 8 July 2025.
This year marks a powerful milestone: 50 years of honouring and elevating Indigenous voices, culture, and resilience.
The 2025 theme, “The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy,” celebrates not only the achievements of the past but the bright future ahead.
10.30am – Flag Raising Ceremony
Civic Centre, 14 Mair Street Benalla
11.00am –  Lakeside Community Centre, Benalla Showgrounds
 1.00pm –  Unveiling of the Benalla Deadly Women’s Yarning Group (VACCA) 2025 NAIDOC Quilt
                    Lakeside Community Centre, Benalla Showgrounds
Join us for children’s activities, live music, displays. hair braiding and yummy food.
This is a FREE event, everyone is welcome.
