Benalla Rural City Council is supporting a free community screening of the 2025 film Plainclothes at Benalla Cinema, delivered by the Social Inclusion Action Group as part of local Pride Month celebrations.
Set in 1990s New York State and inspired by true events, Plainclothes follows a working-class undercover Police Officer who is tasked with entrapping and apprehending gay men, only to find himself drawn to one of his targets. The film explores themes of identity, loyalty and the human cost of discrimination.
The event aims to support inclusion and belonging for LGBTIQ+ community members, their families and friends. Each free ticket includes a small popcorn and a small drink, making it an easy and affordable night out for the community.
