The Occasional Councillor Training

This training is for those working with and in support of farmers and people in agricultural industries. It will provide tips on how to recognise stress and what to do about it. It is to help us support and look out for each other in challenging times.

Free training for professions working with landholders:

  • Preparing to work in difficult environments
  • Skills of the helper, including communication
  • How to structure difficult conversations
  • Strategies to support people who may be acutely emotionally distressed
  • Diffusing situations
  • Self-care for you

When: 9.30am-1.30pm, Thursday 17 July 2025

Where: Cockatoo room, DEECA office, 89 Sydney Rd, Benalla

This practical training is part of the Regional Drought Resilience Planning Program, funded by the Australian and Victorian Governments.
