Benalla Rural City Council is calling on the community to provide feedback on its proposed 2026/2027 Budget, which is now on public display.
The proposed budget was endorsed for public exhibition at the Council Meeting on Wednesday 13 May 2026. Community members have until 6pm on Thursday 4 June 2026 to provide feedback.
Councillors will be at the Benalla Lakeside Market on Saturday 23 May to engage with the community on the proposed budget.
To help residents understand the budget and share their thoughts, Council is also hosting a Community Information Session on Tuesday 26 May 2026 from 5pm at the Benalla Civic Centre.
Mayor Cr Bernie Hearn encouraged everyone to read the proposed budget and get involved.
“This is your chance to see exactly where your rates are going and what we have planned for the next 12 months,” Cr Hearn said. “Take a look at the budget, come along to the information session, or have a chat with us at the market. It’s important we hear from you so we can make sure this budget works for everyone in our community.”
The proposed 2026/2027 Budget is available on the Council’s website at haveyoursay.benalla.vic.gov.au. Hard copies can also be viewed at the Benalla Customer Service Centre and Benalla Library.
The final budget will be considered for adoption at the Council Meeting on Wednesday 24 June 2026, following a review of all community submissions.
