Community groups and organisations across Benalla can sharpen their grant writing skills at the Secrets of Grant Success Workshop, held on Thursday 11 June 2026 from 9.30am to midday at the Benalla Lakeside Community Centre, Benalla Showgrounds. The hands-on session helps participants build the knowledge and tools they need to create competitive grant applications.
Over 2.5 hours, the workshop covers the essentials of grant success. Participants learn the grant basics, how to plan supporting documents, gather strong evidence, and improve their writing skills. The session also shares practical techniques and tools that teams and community groups can use to craft applications that stand out.
Each workshop is tailored to the needs of the people in the room, so the content stays relevant and useful. This practical focus means attendees leave with skills they can apply straight away.
Every participant receives a hard copy workbook of their notes, along with the tools to plan and create their next application. These resources give attendees a clear path forward once the workshop ends.
The training is made possible thanks to the support of Benalla Rural City Council and the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action’s (DEECA) Forestry Transition Fund. Their backing helps local groups access the skills and confidence needed to secure funding for community projects.
