Domestic Animal Management Plan

Our Domestic Animal Management Plan outlines Councils responsibilities administering laws under the Domestic Animals Act 1994 and initiatives to promote responsible pet ownership and protect community safety. Key areas include:

  • Pet registration, microchipping, and desexing.
  • Managing  uncontained and wandering pets.
  • Investigation of dog attacks and enforcement of the Domestic Animals Act 1994
  • Confinement and control of cats and effective control of dogs in public areas.

The plan is updated every four years to stay consistent with community needs and government requirements.
