Molyullah Fish and Chip Night - 2022 Community Event or Project of the
This community event has been a 'must' on the calendar for those living in the rural area of Molyullah for the past two years in between COVID restrictions.
Being a brainchild of the Hall President, Russell Byrne, locals gather from 5.30pm each second Friday night of the month for social connectedness and an evening meal of fish and chips.
This event appeals to all ages with young families enjoying a picnic playtime with other children. Others enjoy a chat with neighbours, and those who have retired into Benalla often return to catch up with old mates and maintain a sense of belonging to community.
With the impossibility of running the Molyullah Easter Sports for the past two years due to the pandemic, this event has become even more important to the community than ever to ensure locals remain connected.
Russell Byrne has also been nominated in the Citizenship of the Year Category.
