Community Christmas Party set to bring festive cheer to Benalla

05 December 2025

Benalla Rural City Council is reminding residents to mark their calendars for the Community Christmas Party, set to bring festive cheer to the Splash Park precinct on Friday 12 December 2025. The free event offers families and friends a chance to come together by the lake for an evening of celebration, food and entertainment.

Festivities will kick off from 5pm, with activities running throughout the evening. Families can look forward to a free community BBQ, music, facepainting and the opportunity for children to see Santa as he visits from the North Pole. Professional photos with Santa will also be available for families from approximately 6.30pm at the Visitor Information Centre, with two photos available for $10.

Mayor Cr Bernie Hearn encouraged everyone to head down to the lake and make the most of the free activities.

“It is going to be a great night out for the family,” Cr Hearn said.

“Whether you want to enjoy the BBQ, listen to some music or simply soak up the festive atmosphere, there is something for everyone. It is a chance to catch up with your friends and enjoy our beautiful lake foreshore. It’s one of my favourite events of the year.”

Attendees are advised that parking around the Splash Park and Visitor Information Centre precinct will be limited due to expected crowd numbers. Residents are encouraged to walk or cycle where possible. For those driving, the closest parking will be available at the Mair Street Council Buildings or Church Street carparks.
