Benalla Rural City is set to celebrate Australia Day with a vibrant program of events across the region. Showcasing community spirit, the day recognises outstanding contributions through the Australia Day Awards and welcomes our newest citizens through a Citizenship Ceremony celebrating the diversity and strength of our community.

Benalla Rural City Council’s Australia Day Awards recognise the outstanding achievements and contributions of individuals and community groups across our region.

These prestigious awards are among the highest honours Council can bestow, shining a light on local heroes whose efforts might otherwise go unnoticed.

Another highlight of the day is the Citizenship Ceremony, celebrating the diversity and strength of our community. Welcoming new citizens is a significant role of Council and it is a privilege to share this moment with people who have chosen to make Benalla Rural City their home.
