Benalla Rural City Council is calling on the community to share their ideas and help shape two key transport plans: the Road Safety Strategy and the Active Transport Plan.
This community engagement program gives residents a direct voice in creating a safer and more accessible transport network for everyone while encouraging active transport such as riding bicycles and scooters, walking and jogging.
Council will be offering various ways for people to get involved, including public workshops and online surveys. The feedback gathered will directly influence the development of these crucial plans, which will guide future decisions on road safety improvements, cycling paths, and pedestrian-friendly spaces.
Mayor of Benalla Rural City, Cr Bernie Hearn, said community feedback is essential for creating plans that reflect the needs of locals.
“We want to hear directly from you – the people who live and work in our Rural City,” Cr Hearn said. “Your ideas and feedback are vital to ensuring our Active Transport Plan and Road Safety Strategy are practical and truly meet the needs of our community. This is your chance to play an active role in improving how we move around Benalla safely and efficiently, and I encourage everyone to get involved.”
