Benalla Cinema is set to host the Korean Film Festival in Australia (KOFFIA) this weekend for the second time, offering both residents and visitors the chance to enjoy a curated selection of films, all screening free of charge.
Benalla Rural City is one of only six regional destinations chosen to host this incredible event, offering both locals and visitors a chance to experience the best of Korean cinema.
Over one September weekend, audiences will be treated to four captivating films, each offering an insight into Korean culture and storytelling. From touching dramas to imaginative tales, the Festival promises an immersive experience that celebrates the power of cinema to connect communities and spark conversation.
Mayor Cr Bernie Hearn said the Korean Film Festival in Australia was a special opportunity for the local community.
“It is wonderful to have the Korean Film Festival in Australia come to Benalla Rural City,” Cr Hearn said.
“This event offers our community a unique cultural experience and the opportunity to enjoy world-class cinema right here in our own town. We are honoured to be a part of the KOFFIA touring program and look forward to welcoming everyone to these fantastic screenings.”
