Festive colour and creativity have brought extra cheer to the Benalla CBD this Christmas, thanks to the efforts of students from Benalla P–12 College who designed and created a series of Christmas-themed signs, now on display throughout the town centre.
The artwork was produced as part of the Visual Arts programs at Benalla P–12 College’s Faithful Street Campus and Waller Street Campus, with students working to design bright, joyful pieces that celebrate the festive season and help create a welcoming atmosphere for locals and visitors alike.
Mayor, Cr Bernie Hearn, thanked the students and teachers for their commitment and creativity, saying the project was a wonderful example of young people in helping to brighten our town at such a special time of year.
“This Christmas artwork has added a real sense of joy and colour to our CBD, and they’ve brought smiles to people passing through,” Cr Hearn said.
Cr Hearn also acknowledged the teachers involved, noting the value of arts education in building confidence, creativity and community connection.
“It’s a lovely reminder of the importance of supporting creativity and celebrating the efforts of our young people. She said.”
Benalla Rural City Council thanks Benalla P–12 College students and staff for their tireless work and for helping to spread Christmas cheer across Benalla.
