Benalla Rural City Council (Council), acting under clause 3 of Schedule 10 of the Local Government Act 1989 (Vic) (Act), proposes to discontinue the government road abutting Nelson Road, Winton North, shown hatched on the plan below (Road).
If the Road is discontinued, the land comprising the Road will vest in the Crown, and the Crown may then enter into a lease of the land. Council proposes to discontinue the Road to facilitate the lease of the land by the Crown to the occupier of the adjoining land.
Interested persons are invited to make a submission on the proposal in accordance with section 223 of the Act. Submissions close 5pm Thursday 26 January 2023.
All submissions will be considered in accordance with section 223 of the Act and will be included in an agenda for a meeting of the Council that will be made available to the public.

Any person making a written submission and requesting to be heard in support of their written submission is entitled to appear in person, or may be represented by a person acting on their behalf, before a meeting of Council or a committee of Council.
After considering all submissions, Council will decide whether to proceed with the Proposal.
