Special Needs Waste Collection

A weekly collection of general waste is available on application if you have nappies or medical waste to dispose of.

NAPPIES
The weekly service is only available for the child’s permanent residence and until the youngest child is four years old or out of nappies. A copy of the birth certificate needs to be supplied. The weekly service for the disposal of nappies is free of charge.

MEDICAL WASTE
If you are requesting a weekly service for the disposal of medical waste, you will need to provide documentation from a medical practitioner to support the request. If the medical condition is ongoing, this must be noted on the medical practitioner’s letter. The service will be free of charge for the duration of the medical condition.

OTHER NEEDS
Any weekly service requests for children over four years of age or other special needs will be considered on a case-by-case basis. You will need to provide documentation from a medical practitioner to support the request.

Approved Special Needs Weekly Waste Collection services are reviewed annually in January to ensure the requirements for the service, as set out in our Waste Services Policy(PDF, 4MB) are still being met.
