Gender Equality Action Plan

Benalla Rural City Council is committed to promoting gender equality in the workplace. Under the Gender Equality Act 2020 Council is required to make meaningful progress to achieve workplace gender equality and this includes developing a Gender Equality Action Plan (GEAP).

While the GEAP is a legislated requirement we strongly believe that gender equality will benefit our staff by providing a workplace that is safe, respectful, and equitable where everyone is able to fulfil their personal potential. Increasingly our workforce will reflect the community we serve.

Furthermore, we believe that gender equality will strengthen our performance as an employer as well as our service delivery to community.
