The appointments were made at a Special Meeting of the Council on Wednesday 15 November 2017 and are each for a one year term.

“Benalla Rural City offers a wonderful way of life, with fantastic facilities and opportunities.

“As a Council we will continue to work hard to ensure our operations and transactions are transparent and rigorous and that the benefit of the good work of the Council reaches all our residents and visitors.”

This is the first time Benalla Rural City has had a Deputy Mayor and Cr Scott Upston is humbled by his appointment.

“I am excited, honoured and humbled by this appointment and by the confidence my fellow Councillors have shown in me,” Cr Upston said.

“I congratulate the Mayor on his appointment and look forward to continuing the important work of the Council.”
